HDMI 2.1 Protocol Analyzer supports 48Gbps Analysis

TLC 98030 October 2017 – Teledyne LeCroy announced the industry’s first HDMI 2.1 Protocol Analyzer module. The new module runs on the 980 series platform and supports analysis of incoming HDMI 2.1 video streams at 48Gbps from sources outputting the higher video resolutions. The module’s analyzer feature will provide visibility into the underlying protocol elements and structures necessary for transporting HDMI video streams at the new 48Gbps rate.

This will enable developers of HDMI 2.1 source devices to verify their designs and ensure interoperability early in the product lifecycle.

“Adding HDMI 2.1 protocol analysis support to the 980 series is a game changer for HDMI developers. They will now have the right tools and capability to test their HDMI 2.1 source devices at such a key phase of development. We are excited for the growth that is ahead for HDMI 2.1 and are committed to continuing to support the HDMI 2.1 development ecosystem,” said Craig Bezek, VP of Engineering at Teledyne LeCroy’s Quantum Data unit.
