Family of expandable PXI RF Matrices

20 September 2012 – Pickering Interfaces is expanding its range of PXI matrices supporting RF switching with the addition of three new modules. Leveraging on the success of the 40-726A matrix module, the 40-727 is a 16x4 matrix, the 40-728 is a 16x2 matrix and the 40-729 is an 8x4 matrix.

Each matrix is available in a 50Ohm version with 300MHz usable bandwidth or a 75Ohm version with 100MHz usable bandwidth. The 50Ohm versions are supplied with either SMB connectors or a multi-way connector that allows mass connection of the RF connections in one operation – this configuration can simplify cabling to a test fixture interface. The 75 Ohm versions are supplied with mini-SMB connections.

Each matrix is also available with an optional loop thru facility to allow easy plug-in expansion of the X axis of the matrix, thus offering larger configurations such as 24x4, 32x4, 40x4, 48x4 and providing larger matrix configurations than are normally available in PXI test systems.  Isolation relays improve performance by eliminating stub lengths in most signal paths.

Applications include RF switching to 300MHz, but also many low frequency applications will benefit that require better crosstalk performance than is available in most low frequency matrices.

All versions can be supported by any PXI compliant chassis or PXIe hybrid slot and by Pickering Interfaces modular LXI chassis.
