Economical Waveform Generator for Square Waves up to 60 MHz

Siglent SDG1000X08 September 2016 – Siglent Technologies released the SDG1000X family of function / arbitrary waveform generators. The SDG1000X series of generators come with 196 different built-in arbitrary waveforms. The SDG1062X series can output square waveforms up to 60 MHz (30 MHz on the SDG1032X). This is unique in this economy class of waveform generators.

The SDG1000X series of generators utilize a fast 150 MSa/s Sample Rate and 14-bit vertical resolution. Modulation types include AM, DSB-AM, FM, PM, FSK, PSK, and PWM. The Harmonics function allows sinewaves with up to 10 adjustable harmonics to be generated. Channels 1 and 2 can be easily combined using front-panel / remote control.

Siglent’s SDG1000X incorporates the EasyPulse technology platform which has been a popular feature that overcomes weaknesses found in standard DDS designs. The resulting waveforms exhibit low jitter, fully adjustable duty cycle over the full frequency range, and faster transition times over the full range of the instrument, with step sizes as low as 100 ps. Pulse width can be set to a minimum of 32.6 ns with step resolution as fine as 100 ps. This innovated design led to Siglent Technologies being chosen as a finalist in the 2015 R&D 100 awards.

In addition to these features not found in other generators in this price class, the SDG1000X includes a built-in frequency counter (0.1 Hz – 200 MHz), USB and LAN (VXI-II) interfaces as well as optional GPIB. The EasyWave software (included) is a powerful arbitrary waveform editing package that allows for several methods of waveform definition, including manual drawing, line drawing, equation drawing, coordinate drawing, and more. Users can easily edit arbitrary waveforms using EasyWave.

With this latest product release the total number of product families in Siglent’s new X-series totals 7, including the SDS2000X oscilloscopes, SDS1000X oscilloscopes, SSA3000X spectrum analyzers, SPD3000X power supplies, and SDG2000X generator family.
