Agilent introduces new Inline In-Circuit Tester

Agilent-i3070-5i30 October 2013 – Agilent Technologies introduced the fully automated Medalist i3070 Series 5i Inline In-Circuit Test System. With a compact chassis, the system uses 33 percent less floor space than conventional 3070 systems. Designed to SMEMA specifications, the i3070 Series 5i seamlessly integrates into high-volume production lines. This minimizes the need for operator handling, thereby saving labor costs, reducing the risk of product damage due to electrostatic discharge, and improving product quality.

The system features Agilent’s innovative short-wire fixturing technology to ensure transportability, repeatability and stability of tests. The ergonomic design allows users to easily change fixtures and perform routine maintenance.

“There is a growing need for fully automated ICT solutions as manufacturers worldwide face the challenge of talent retention in this competitive sector. Customers are also increasingly concerned about board handling and its impact on production yields,” said NK Chari, director of marketing and support at Agilent’s Measurement Systems Division. “This new inline and fully automated i3070 system offers a higher level of quality for PCBAs being created.”

The i3070 Series 5i retains all of Agilent’s award-winning ICT technologies such as Cover-Extend Technology and a comprehensive suite of boundary-scan technologies. Forward compatibility of standard test programs ensures ease of switching from offline to inline testing.

The new system is available for ordering now.
