News - Board and System TestTest of standardized RJ plug connections08 March 2011 - ENGMATEC introduced special test plugs for RJ plug connections. The plugs have been designed specially for application with functional or in-circuit tests. RJ connections are modular plugs and sockets, which are used for telephone and network wiring worldwide. The most common RJ plug connections used in the PC and telephony segment are 6pin and 4pin modular plugs (for phone, fax, and modems) and 8pin “RJ-45”-plugs (for ISDN- and Ethernet-interfaces). As test systems often run in 3-shift operation, plug contacting units have to resist an amount of several thousand connecting cycles per day. This requires test plugs specially developed for this application. ENGMATEC plugs are manufactured from high performance plastics, which guarantees an optimal abrasion resistance. Contact wires made of copper beryllium (CuBe), particularly suitable for a high number of connecting cycles, are bonded into the plug base. A specially developed plug enables a wear resistant contacting of the sockets and prevents a damage of the contact springs. The following accessories are additionally available: - Floating mounting shoes, self-centring devices - Cable and plug assembly to customers' requirements - Complete connecting unit with pneumatic actuation and sensors for position monitoring ENGMATEC’s delivery program for connectors covers all usual sockets such as Western mini, USB and TAE. Special forms, special lengths and coded plug forms are realizable on customer's request. www.engmatec.deRelated Articles: |
