SIGLENT Technologies adds Electronic DC-Loads to their Product Portfolio

Siglent SDL1000X21 June 2019 - Siglent enhances its product portfolio with the introduction of the SDL1000X/X-E Series of programmable Electronic Loads. The newly presented E-Loads feature an input range of up-to 150V/30A and are available in 200 or 300 Watt versions. These versatile instruments fit perfectly in static and dynamic testing of power supplies, embedded power designs as well as for verifying battery and solar cell performance.

The SDL1020X/X-E models offer an input range of 150 V/30 A with 200 W total power dissipation, while the SDL1030X/X-E’s have an input range of 150 V/30 A up-to 300 W. The X type provide a measurement resolution of 0.1 mV/0.1 mA, whereas the economical X-E type offers a still great 1 mV/1 mA.

A 4-wire sense compensation mode is also implemented to remove any additional error due to the voltage drop in the connection wires. The loads support all the common modes of operation: CC/CV/CR and CP.

One of the most important features of this new e-load series is its high-speed response performance. In dynamic test mode, the highest frequency of periodical switching between two user-defined levels (Level A and Level B) can achieve 25 kHz. The adjustable slew rate can be set by the user up to a value of 2.5 A/us.

All models come standard with a 3.5-inch TFT-LCD display. The user-friendly interface makes the Load easy to operate. As part of this functionality, the operator can use the Program function (maximum 50 groups) and List function (maximum 100 steps) to create complex discharge profiles which can be useful in battery charging circuitry design.

For an additionally increased customer value, the SDL1000X/X-E series is equipped with more additional features to make testing easy and fast. For example, the loads have a LED-test mode (CR-LED) designed specifically for LED driver testing. This mode is able to emulate LED’s actual characteristics such as single continuity. Furthermore, the instruments have a voltage threshold function, trend chart function and voltage Rise/Fall speed test implemented.

For maintaining security and reliability, the SDL1000X/X-E series provide comprehensive protection features like over-current (OCP), over-voltage (OVP), over-power (OPP), over-temperature protection (OTP) as well as reverse voltage protection to prevent incorrect wiring connections to the Device-Under-Test.

The price for this series of electronic loads starts at $539.
