News - Component TestSoftware simplifies detailed Analysis of electronic Components03 October 2011 - HIOKI E.E. CORPORATION launched the IM9000 Equivalent Circuit Analysis Software, an optional add-on for the IM3570 Impedance Analyzer. The IM3570 was designed for use in testing applications on production lines for electronic components such as inductors, capacitors, and piezoelectric elements and in development applications at university and company research departments. The IM9000 Equivalent Circuit Analysis Software enhances the analytical functionality offered by the IM3570. Electronic components consist of elements such as inductors, capacitors, and resistors. The IM3570 can measure such components’ frequency characteristics, yielding readings at the frequencies at which components are actually used, but customer feedback received by HIOKI indicated a desire to be able to measure values for each element. The IM9000’s equivalent circuit analysis function estimates individual elements’ values, allowing more fine-grained testing of electronic components. Five equivalent circuit models are provided by the equivalent circuit analysis function. Functionality for automatically selecting the optimal model based on the characteristics of the components being measured simplifies the analysis process, eliminating the need to worry about variations in work results due to differences in model selection caused by workers’ varying degrees of skill. Additionally, a comparator function can generate PASS/FAIL judgments for element values obtained from the equivalent circuit analysis function, making the combination of the IM3570 and IM9000 ideal for use on production lines. Furthermore, the IM9000 can display Cole-Cole plots, admittance circles, and other graphs (using its X-Y display function), facilitating more detailed visual analysis. IM9000 Applications Applications include fine-grained analysis of electronic components, for example the mechanical quality factor of piezoelectric elements, and generation of PASS/FAIL judgments as appropriate. www.hioki.comRelated Articles: |
