New Tip Style for Test Probes improves Performance and Reliability30 October 2014 - Everett Charles Technologies (ECT) launches the new I40 tip style. The innovative geometry of the I40 tip ensures best yield and reliability and overcomes the challenges of contacting lead free solder or OSP treated copper. Lead free solder and OSP treated copper present a harder or more abrasive contact surface causing excessive plating and probe tip wear.
Signal Analyzer with 510 MHz Bandwidth and lowest Phase Noise29 October 2014 – Keysight Technologies announced the new flagship of its X-Series: the N9040B UXA signal analyzer. The UXA delivers industry-leading phase noise performance as well as 510-MHz analysis and real-time bandwidths. Combining these three capabilities with a large display and touch-driven interface, the UXA provides wider, deeper views of elusive wideband signals—known or unknown.
Remote PXI Express Control through PC24 October 2014 - ADLINK Technology announced the new PCIe-PXIe-8638 high performance PXI Express remote controller, enabling remote control of any PXI Express system directly via PC. Fully software- and driver-transparent bandwidth up to 4 GB/s is available through PCIe Gen 2 x8 link capability. With the PCIe-PXIe-8638, processor performance is maximized for industrial PC, server, or workstation, delivering dependable remote control of the PXI/PXIe system, and maximum flexibility and reduced hybrid test application costs.
HBM acquired FiberSensing23 October 2014 - Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik (HBM) has announced the acquisition of FiberSensing – Sistemas Avancados de Monitorizacao S.A. (FiberSensing), a provider of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) based measurement and monitoring systems for critical physical assets, for an undisclosed sum.
4 Channel 20 GHz USB Sampling Oscilloscope22 October 2014 - With the new PicoScope 9341 20 GHz Sampling Oscilloscope, engineers can analyze two differential or four single-ended high-speed signals. The instrument is ideal for measuring skew and crosstalk between differential pairs on serial buses such as HDMI, SATA and PCIe, and for testing signal integrity at differential and single-ended transceiver ports. Data rates up to 40 Gb/s can be viewed, with 5th-harmonic characterization possible up to 8 Gb/s.
USB and LAN Power Sensors with widest Dynamic Range20 October 2014 – Keysight Technologies introduced the U2040 X-Series wide dynamic range power sensors, consisting of four USB models for wireless and radar applications, and a dedicated LAN model for satellite testing. With the world’s widest dynamic range found in a power sensor and extremely high measurement speed, the U2040 X-Series makes fast, accurate and repeatable power measurements over a wide range of power levels, allowing engineers to improve productivity and lower cost of test.
PC-controlled VNAs with Coverage up to 40 GHz20 October 2014 – Anritsu expands its ShockLine family of Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) with the introduction of the MS46122A series. Incorporating Anritsu’s patented shock line VNA-on-a-chip technology, the MS46122A low-cost full-reversing 2-port VNAs are packaged in a very compact 1U chassis, and are optimized for ultra-cost-sensitive test applications in manufacturing, engineering, and education environments.
