News - General T&MNew 21-slot fully hybrid PXIe Chassis & PXIe embedded Controller13 November 2023 – Pickering Interfaces will launch two new products designed to enhance testing capabilities – a 21-slot fully hybrid PXIe chassis and a single-slot PXIe embedded controller – on stand 452 in Hall A1 at productronica, taking place from November 14 to 17, at Messe München in Munich, Germany. The world’s leading trade fair for the electronics manufacturing industry, productronica, co-located with SEMICON Europa, showcases the entire value chain spectrum of technologies and solutions for electronics development and production. From semiconductor manufacturing, microelectronics and battery production to cleanroom technology and logistics, every two years, the world of electronics production comes together in Munich. Smart Accessories for testing complex RF Applications03 November 2023 - SIGLENT announced the release of SEM5000A series electronic calibration (ECal) modules, SSU5000A series mechanical switch and SSM5000A series switch matrix, which are designed and optimized for use with the SHA850A, SVA1000X and SNA5000A series vector network analyzers from SIGLENT. They offer a comprehensive, cost-effective total solution for simple to complex RF measurement tasks on multiport and multiple devices. Teledyne to acquire Xena Networks02 November 2023 - Teledyne Technologies has entered into an agreement to acquire Xena Networks ApS ("Xena Networks"). Xena Networks, headquartered outside of Copenhagen, Denmark, is a leading provider of high-speed Terabit Ethernet validation, quality assurance, and production test solutions. The acquisition will expand Teledyne LeCroy's Protocol Test Portfolio to include Terabit Ethernet Traffic Generation and Network Emulation. Rohde & Schwarz adds eight-channel Oscilloscopes01 November 2023 — With the all-new R&S MXO 5, Rohde & Schwarz continues to evolve its series of next-generation oscilloscopes, started with the successful R&S MXO 4 in 2022. The R&S MXO 5 is the company’s first eight-channel oscilloscope. The new R&S MXO 5 oscilloscopes are available with four or eight channels. Building on next-generation MXO-EP processing ASIC technology developed by Rohde & Schwarz and introduced with the R&S MXO 4, the new eight-channel R&S MXO 5 oscilloscopes take measurement performance to the next level. Fortive to acquire EA Elektro-Automatik30 October 2023 - Fortive Corporation announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire EA Elektro-Automatik Holding GmbH (EA), a supplier of high-power electronic test solutions for energy storage, mobility, hydrogen, and renewable energy applications, for $1.45 billion in cash, net of $215 million of tax benefits from Bregal Unternehmerkapital. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in early first quarter of 2024. GHz-speed Digitizer Systems with up to 16 Channels27 October 2023 - A new option from Spectrum Instrumentation offers a user-friendly way to create multi-channel data acquisition systems with ultrafast sampling speeds up to 10 GS/s. Called Star-Hub, the option allows up to 8 of the company’s flagship PCIe digitizers (M5i.33xx series) to be connected together. Individual cards then share common clock and trigger signals, which ensures there is minimal phase delay and timing skew between all the channels. The Star-Hub option is installed by mounting a single piggyback module onto any of the M5i series cards in the multi-channel system. Using accurately matched and shielded coax cabling, the board then distributes the clock to each module and precisely synchronizes the trigger event with the system clock. Emerson completes Acquisition of NI24 October 2023 – Emerson announced it has closed its acquisition of NI (National Instruments), a provider of software-connected automated test and measurement systems, at an equity value of $8.2 billion. The acquisition of NI advances Emerson’s position as a global automation leader and expands its opportunity to capitalize on key secular trends like nearshoring, digital transformation, and sustainability and decarbonization. NI brings a portfolio of software, control and intelligent devices that is expected to accelerate Emerson’s revenue growth aligned to its 4-7% through the cycle organic growth target.
