Arbitrary Waveform Generator and Frequency Counter with USB Interface

GaoTek-AWG-USB16 August 2012 - GAO Tek Inc. is offering its arbitrary waveform generator and frequency counter which has one channel of 8-bit arbitrary synchronized waveform output, two 8-bit input channels for counter/frequency measurement and an external trigger input. The USB arbitrary waveform generator and frequency counter, model A0210001, generates regular waveforms such as Sine, Square, Triangle, Saw-tooth, TTL, White Noise, Gaussian Noise, Trapezoid, Exponent and AM and FM signals.

Parameters such as amplitude, frequency and offset are programmable. The waveform generator and frequency counter can read waveform data files produced by Tektronix oscilloscopes or Tektronix waveform editor software.

The waveform generator and frequency counter operates over a frequency range of 0.1 Hz to 5 MHz at a resolution of 0.01 Hz. It uses DDS technology for high frequency accuracy, high waveform resolution and high reliability. It operates under Windows OS from NT to Vista and Windows 7. Its DAC clock allows for continuous adjustability from 0 to 50 MHz in 0.2 Hz steps. In addition, this generator ships with both SDK and API and can be easily integrated or embedded into other auto-measuring systems.

This bus powered arbitrary waveform generator and frequency counter belongs to GAO’s family of Logical Analyzers and Generators. This line includes Multi-function Logic Analyzer which has the features of a multi-channel oscilloscope and is capable of observing a sizable amount of data and data flow direction control information simultaneously and captures narrow pulse interference information, DDS Function Generator which uses direct digital synthesis (DDS) to generate different types of electrical waveforms over a wide frequency range of 40 µHz to 5 MHz and Digital RF Millivoltmeter and Frequency Counter which measures sinusoidal signal voltage over a wide frequency range of 10 kHz to 2000 MHz.
