Off-the-shelf Solution for IEC/EN 61000-4-3 EMS Measurements07 March 2014 - The new standardized R&S CEMS100 test platform from Rohde & Schwarz is the first flexible and reliable off-the-shelf solution for EMS measurements in line with IEC/EN 61000-4-3. The state-of-the-art platform includes all the components needed for EMS and EMI measurements. It covers all common frequency ranges and field strengths required for precompliance tests and certification. Rohde & Schwarz will be showcasing the R&S CEMS100 next week on the international EMV Düsseldorf 2014 trade fair (booth CCD-202). Thanks to the modular structure and versatile configuration capabilities, users can adapt the system to future changes to standards and manufacturer-specific test procedures. The system can also be expanded in the future, making the R&S CEMS100 an inexpensive and future-ready option for setting up EMS test systems. Another highlight of the trade fair is the R&S ESR EMI test receiver series, which has been expanded by adding a model for up to 26.5 GHz. The R&S ESR26 covers the frequency range from 10 Hz to 26.5 GHz and provides high measurement speeds and comprehensive diagnostic tools for EMC certification testing in line with standards. The instrument can be used to perform conducted or radiated certification measurements in line with commercial standards such as EN, CISPR and FCC as well as military standards. Thanks to its broadband architecture, the R&S ESR26 performs disturbance measurements in just seconds something that took several hours in the past. The R&S RTO digital oscilloscope is also a valuable tool for EMI debugging. The R&S RTO has a sensitivity of 1 mV/div, a bandwidth of up to 4 GHz and a very low input noise, making the oscilloscope ideal for capturing and analyzing disturbance signals with near-field probes. The key element is its fast and user-friendly fast Fourier transform (FFT) function. The oscilloscope color codes the frequency of spectral components, offering a simple visualization of the time structure and the type of disturbance. This way, the results from EMC compliance tests can be used to analyze unwanted emissions from electronic designs in the development lab and to identify their sources. Rohde & Schwarz has recently expanded the frequency range for EMC testing by adding a 2.5 GHz to 6.0 GHz model to its compact R&S BBA150 broadband amplifiers. The new frequency range is an addition to the already existing range from 0.8 GHz to 3.0 GHz. Thanks to their state-of-the-art design, the amplifiers, which have been optimized for high frequencies, deliver high output power and are still compact and lightweight. The modularity of the amplifiers makes it possible to configure complete systems flexibly to meet user requirements. Related Articles: |
