 “Green” Regenerative Battery Test System

09 January 2013 - NH Research introduced recently its 9200 Battery Test System that is capable of recuperating energy in Sink (Battery Discharge) mode and deliver back to the Utility Grid. In addition the 9200 system eliminates the need for additional cooling like power consuming air conditioners or water cooling to remove waste heat associated with traditional high power battery test systems. The saving is double.

The 9200 System is modular and consist of one or more channels of each 8 kW Source/12 kW Sink. Up to three channels can be mounted in a 9200 System cabinet met intuitive touch screen control. In total 12 channels (4 cabinets) can be paralleled for a total power 144 kW. The channels can be operated completely individually or can be configured in parallel, for optimal flexibility.

The System has built in high accuracy measurements and can collect measured voltages and charging and discharging currents and display in scope and or tabular format for analysis. Programmable safety limits and interlock mechanisms are provided to protect the battery. The System is not only capable of battery or fuel cell testing, but can also emulate batteries in order to test chargers.

Programming and executing charge/discharge profiles can easily be achieved through the built in Macro Editor or remotely through LAN with almost any popular automation environment like Labview, C++ etc.

The 9200 Battery Test System is available from AR Benelux B.V.
