Test Suite for Serial ATA (SATA) & Serial Attached SCSI (SAS)

01 September 2011 - LeCroy Corporation introduced a new protocol test application—STATS—enabling completely automated testing of all functions supported by the Sierra and STX class of SAS & SATA protocol analyzer instruments. LeCroy's SAS & SATA protocol analyzer platforms currently support the most industry leading functions, including Analyzer, Jammer (error injection), Generator, Host and Target Emulators.

The addition of STATS provides end-users with an extensive library of test scenarios that can be tailored to their applications, dramatically reducing set-up and test times, and improving customer satisfaction. In addition, the functionality, flexibility, and simplicity provided by the new STATS application enables users to transfer typically complex design and validation test scenarios from primary design teams to test technicians and other engineering or support teams.

STATS provides a turnkey verification system allowing developers and protocol test engineers to pre-test devices for SAS & SATA specification conformance and beyond. The system generates user-defined traffic conditions to the product under test while the Analyzer simultaneously records and analyzes responses and provides pass/fail results. The Automated Test Suite includes a software console that manages the entire process by allowing users to run individual test cases or run a full suite in batch mode operation. When using the STATS application, users can also automate access to the full complement of advanced triggering and other configuration capabilities available within the LeCroy software, including the detection of individual platforms.

To complement the release of STATS and its multi-function capability, LeCroy is offering a special promotion on three models of the SAS & SATA Sierra Analyzer platforms; the Sierra M6-4, M6-2, and M6-1. For a limited time, customers can choose two additional functions at no additional charge, a discount of up to 68% off list price. Functions available include the LeCroy Trainer (Exerciser), InFusion (Jammer), Host and/or Device Emulators.
